Madavoor Vasudevan Nair is a veteran and legendary Kathakali artiste and the recipient of the prestigious Padma Bhushan award from the government of India. He has paved his ways and made impression in the minds of connoisseurs and common people with Pacha, Kathi, Minukku, Kari, Thadi and female role presentations. He has shared the stage with almost all legendary Kathakali performers during the last five decades.. Kalyani Amma at Madavoor of Trivandrum District in Kerala. Shri Vasudevan Nair's mother was a renowned music vocalist. He was born with five brothers and one sister. From his childhood he had a keen interest in carnatic music, Bajans and Kuthi-yotta-pattukal.
